What does the browser protect me from?
It removes tracking parameters (such as utm_, fbclid and gclid) from links, blocks known tracking sites and their analytics beacons, sends Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals, and erases cookies, cache and site data each time you open or leave the browser.
What is the Privacy shield?
Tap the shield icon to see everything removed or blocked in the current session. The count resets when you clear your data.
How do I clear my browsing data?
Tap the flame icon (Clear data) on the home screen or toolbar. Cookies, cache, site storage and the shield log are erased immediately and you return to the home screen. This also happens automatically when you leave the browser.
How do I share a link without trackers?
Open the page and tap the share icon. The browser shows the clean link and lists what it removed. Tap Copy or Share.
How do I open a link I copied?
On the home screen, tap Paste link. The link is cleaned before it opens.
How do I lock the browser with Face ID?
Open the Privacy shield and turn on Lock with Face ID. When you come back to an open page, the browser asks for Face ID (or your passcode). Pages are also hidden in the app switcher. If you can't unlock, tap Clear & start over to erase the session instead.
The lock says Face ID is unavailable.
Set up Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode in the iOS Settings app, then try again.
Which search engine is used?
Anything you type that isn't a web address is searched on DuckDuckGo.
Why won't a link open another app?
For your safety, the browser only opens web pages. Links that try to launch other apps are blocked.
Does it hide my IP address?
No. Websites still see your IP address, as with any browser. Use a VPN if you need to hide it.
A website looks broken.
Some sites rely on tracking parameters or blocked services. Tap reload, or email us the address so we can look at it.
